Using AdBlue

More and more diesel cars now come with a technology known as SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) which requires an additive known as AdBlue. If this applies to you, it is vitally important to take notice of any warning lights on your dashboard.

The first warning will advise that the tank is getting low, the second will generally give a mileage range and the third and final warning will see the vehicle go into limp home mode (run at reduced power). Also, the car may not restart once the engine has been switched off.

The AdBlue tank will be topped as part of your regular servicing schedule. If more AdBlue is needed between services, it can be purchased at any dealer who sells vehicles which require AdBlue and at some fuel stations (especially Shell).
