Fleet Live – The changing face of fleet management

This year’s Fleet Live provided a unique platform for hundreds of fleet professionals to meet and discuss all the big trends affecting fleets right now.

With key topics covered from electrification to connected cars, to the move away from diesel and the migration to cash.

Expert line-up

On the operations side, we heard about safer fleets, driver recruitment and retention, using big data, driver wellbeing, telematics, fleet utilisation and ways to protect vulnerable road users.

For strategy, speakers explored mobility as a service, city changes required for smart transport, as well as smart urban transport, safety technology. We also heard from the people behind the UK’s biggest electric vehicle trial.

The Fleet Theatre looked at wider issues, such as finance and tax best practice, procurement, flexible benefits strategies, the pitfalls of grey fleets and how to avoid cash takers falling through the duty-of-care gap.

Tomorrow’s fleet

The Tomorrow’s Fleet Zone was a brand-new feature that allowed visitors to experience the future of fleet. It had a purpose-built street ‘Electric Avenue’ to walk down, so visitors could enter the world of autonomous vehicles, innovative charging, mobility apps and other future developments – as well as talking directly with the experts behind the tech.

What’s next?

Fleet Live’s commitment to the future will be even greater next year. They recognise that many fleet roles are changing to cover mobility management as well, so they are evolving too. Next year, we will see Fleet & Mobility Live 2020. It promises to be another unmissable event and we are already looking forward to seeing many of our customers there.
