Making a stand for the plug-in car grant

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) is currently encouraging its members, their customers, employees and drivers to write to their local MPs before the Budget is announced, so they can express their concerns about plans to end the Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG).

As a founder member of the EV100 and a company that is firmly committed to the road to zero, we are also concerned by these developments.

Although the lifetime cost of an electric vehicle is approaching that of a traditional petrol or diesel vehicle, the higher upfront cost is a significant hurdle to overcome.

There are times when this grant could be the difference between choosing a vehicle that is better for our environment – or something more affordable, but more polluting.

If you agree with our concerns, we suggest downloading the BVRLA’s template letter, making any changes that you would like and then sending it to your local MP. You can find their webpage here
