Backing Responsible Business Week

LeasePlan UK is taking part in BITC’s Responsible Business Week 2016 (18–22 April) to increase awareness of the powerful difference that business makes to the economic, social and environmental challenges we face as a nation.

Hundreds of businesses across the UK taking part in the campaign which this year has the theme ‘ideas for good get better when shared’.

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive of Business in the Community (BITC) said:

“Responsible Business Week is an opportunity to raise the profile of business as a force for good and give some much needed visibility to the positive difference business is making to our communities, environment and economy. By creating this space to share ideas that are working, we’re able to challenge and inspire many more organisations of all sizes to be part of a movement transforming the way business is done. We all know trust in business is a challenge. Responsible Business Week is also an opportunity to help business build dialogue with the public by being more transparent about how it does business.”

Through debates, events, and conversations, BITC is asking organisations to be more vocal in sharing how they are putting ideas into action to tackle pressing issues: from supporting employees and the future workforce, investing in local communities to developing small businesses and taking action on the environment.

To mark Responsible Business Week, on Friday 22nd April, LeasePlan UK will publish its Corporate Responsibility Report ‘Our journey to becoming a responsible business’ to help share our success and best practice with employees, customers and the community.
