CV Show

CV Show Review

This year’s CV Show took place from 30th April to 2nd May – and was without a doubt the biggest and best yet. Designed to keep commercial fleet operators up to date with all the industry’s latest product and service innovations here are our highlights from the show.

Zone out

With the CV Show’s distinct zones, delegates could easily find exactly what they were interested. These include the ‘Cool Zone’ for refrigerated vehicles, ‘Workshop’ for supplies and parts and two vast manufacturer and supplier spaces.

Launch pad

March 2019 was the strongest month ever for new van registrations in the UK, according to SMMT, so it’s no surprise there were so many new models launched at the CV Show. These include the new Vauxhall Vivaro, Ford Ranger, 2.0-tonne Transit and LDV EV30.

Tech on show

It is undoubtedly the year of the ‘connected van’ and at the show we saw a vast array of tech – from in-cab connectivity, telematics, driver monitoring and real-time analytics. This included LeasePlan’s UPtime Live – a system that proactively manages maintenance, repair, servicing and scheduling – and My Vehicle Check, a compliance app that lets drivers complete daily safety checks from their phones.

Green van man

Alternative fuels dominated the show, as manufacturers took the opportunity to showcase their green credentials, giving fleet operators the opportunity to find out more about the technology and its benefits.

Compliance, compliance, compliance

Compliance is only going to get tougher for operators, so the recent announcement of the LeasePlan and FORS partnership couldn’t have come at a better time. LeasePlan and FORS were delighted to announce a new service that enables LeasePan to supply vans to help meet the FORS accreditation requirements.
