Key dates for the fleet calendar : 2019

A calendar of key dates and events for fleet, procurement, finance and HR professionals for 2019.

January

1st January:The International Accounting Standards Board’s new regime comes into force for accounting periods starting on or after this date. For companies reporting under IFRS, this means that lease activity will need to be counted on balance sheet.

February

13th February: RoSPA’s Road Safety Conference will focus on initiatives to protect the country’s most vulnerable road users. Details here

14th February : Love e-LCVs Discover the advantages of electric commercial vehicles at The Electric Vehicle Experience Centre, Milton Keynes Details here

March

13th March: The Chancellor’s Spring Statement will be slimmer than the Autumn Budget, but it is expected to reveal the outcome of the Government’s review into the effect of the new emissions tests on vehicle taxes. Details here

7th-17th March: The Geneva Motor Show. Details here 

29th March: The two-year anniversary of the Government’s decision to invoke Article 50. This is the expected date of the UK’s departure from the European Union.

20th March: The Fleet News Awards celebrate the country’s most efficient, clean and safe fleets. Details here

April 

4th April: SMMT Connected 2019 will bring together automotive professionals, as well as people from the tech, media and political spheres, to discuss the future of mobility. Details here

6th April: From this date, many of the benefits that are associated with Salary Sacrifice vehicles – for example, insurance and maintenance – will be included in the tax calculations.

8th April: London is introducing its Ultra-Low Emission Zone, replacing the existing T-Charge. The most-polluting vehicles will face a charge to travel through the city centre. Other cities are expected to introduce Clean Air Zones in 2019-2020. Details here 

30th April – 2nd May. The Commercial Vehicle Show takes place at the NEC in Birmingham. Details here

May: Brake Fleet Safety Conference. Sharing best practice in managing road risk including driver safety, safe vehicles, road safety analysis and action. Details here 

16-19 May: The London Motor & Tech Show will take place at ExCeL. Details here

July: BVRLA Fleet Technology CongressA conference exploring the latest automotive technologies. Details here

October
