Autumn Statement LeasePlan analysis

Biggest business-critical fleet challenges revealed

What’s the biggest challenge that your business faces? Every company is different, of course, but we’d guess that in most cases, the answer would have something to do with ‘money’. And that’s what we found in our recent survey of business critical vehicle fleet operators.

Cost is key

When we asked decision makers this question, over 25% said that reducing costs was their main challenge. This was closely followed (20%) by ‘managing downtime’, with ‘making the right vehicle and equipment decisions’ a little further behind on 15%. Three different angles, but the same ultimate goal – using money as effectively as possible

Reducing downtime

Mark Lovett, Head of Commercial Vehicles LeasePlan UK comments,

With the word ‘austerity’ never far from the headlines, it’s not surprising that companies are focusing on their spending. Reducing downtime, in particular, can be extremely effective, as it’s suggested that it can cost £750 to £1,000 a day for each vehicle that is off the road.

At LeasePlan, we’re committed to helping our customers, and the industry as a whole, with these challenges. Our research and analysis look for ways that customers can use their vehicles more efficiently and allow fleet managers to make the most of their time. Whether the final solution is leasing or not, we want to play an important role in helping people meet today’s needs and future-proof their fleets for tomorrow’s challenges.
