Best apps for the Bank Holiday get-away

(updated 12th April 2019)

Heading away for the long Bank Holiday weekend?

With over 14 million cars expected on the roads the Easter weekend could mean slower than usual journey times – on some routes.

To make your journey just that little bit more enjoyable, here’s a summary of our top 5 driver apps:

1. Audible

When you’ve worked your way through the radio channels, audio book app Audible is still the best and most comprehensive app to get your spoken-word fix.

2. Find my iPhone

It can be accessed from any computer and will help pin point your device on a map. (9/10 times you’ll find the phone has slid down the side of the driver’s seat!)

3. Google Maps

The original and best map app. Excellent for real time traffic, and restaurants to stop at along the way.

4. Met office

Voted Top apps of the year by Google Play the new Met Office app will help drivers be prepared for what ever the great British Bank Holiday weather throws at you.

5. Waze

Waze has created a sat-nav community that’s helped to create a more locally informed route guidance – with turn by turn GPS, accidents and slow moving traffic alerts.

There is of course our very own LeasePlan Driver app – which, if you don’t have already, you can find out more about here.
